Conrad Poirier (born in Montreal July 17, 1912 - died January 12, 1968 in Montreal West) is a Quebec photographer, a pioneer of photojournalism in Quebec.〔 Michel Lessard et collectif d'auteurs, Montréal au XXe siècle, regards de photographes, Éditions de l'Homme, Montréal 1995, 335 pages〕
== Biography ==
Self-taught photographer, Poirier began his career in 1932 with a Speed Graphic, a device that uses a 4 × 5 film, Poirier captures images of sports and cultural events Montréal.〔 Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec, (Poirier Archives Holdings )〕 In addition, he photographed many famous Quebec personalities of the time.〔Robert Lefebvre, (The Early And Rare Canadiens Photography Of Conrad Poirier ), Vox Media, June 5 2009.〕 He is a freelance writer and sells his photos to large newspapers: The Gazette, Montreal Standard, La Patrie, La Presse. Its customers include thirty Canadian media institutions both in French and in English.
